What If Aliens Came?

23rd of January, 2008

Think about this. Tomorrow a thousand aliens show up in whatever kind of space craft. They’re friendly, they’ve learnt our method of communication and they say hi. They’re way ahead of us in technology, they can teleport and travel vast distances quickly. They’ve been to the edge of the universe and they tell us it’s infinite but repeats itself, that is, if travel for a long time in the same direction you’ll eventually get back to where you are. You have to go a long way though.

They look fundamentally like us but they have something like Rhino’s skin and say they have 6 legs and just one arm that comes out of the middle of their chest and they’re about the size of a dog. They obviously look unusual but they’re not hostile at all, they just want to share their knowledge.

Because they’ve been all over the universe they’ve made friends with other inhabited planets full of equally different races. Earth was just the last one on the list.

Wouldn’t your perspective be completely blown? So much for petty things like standards support in future browsers or Oscars nominations. So much for larger things like space programs or even the internet. Knowing for sure that there’s so much life outside of our world would make everything you’ve ever known seem so insignificant.
