Projects

For the last couple of months I’ve had a lot of fun working on a great project called Readeez. They’re short videos for kids with things like music, rhymes, education, stories, language, maths and lots of other topics. Readeez are similar to Pixar movies and Sponge Bob Square Pants as they’re are made for children but are still enjoyable for adults. My favourite by far is Indescribable, an original song with a killer solo at the end.
Something that sets it apart to anything similar on YouTube or other video sites is the production quality. Readeez are huge by web video standards and are served in the vastly superior Quicktime format. That and the clean design make for a much better experience than you get in other places.
The beautiful Readeez studio was featured on architect John Storyk’s website and then in Digital Producer Magazine. Below you can see the control room.

Another project I’ve been working on was born in Canada. I’ve mentioned my new love for ice hockey on jimwhimpey.com before. After returning and annoying my friends with talk about a game they’ve never seen outside of Mighty Ducks 1, 2 and 3, I decided I needed another place to channel out the hockey on my mind.
Trapezoidal Disertion is a hockey blog edited by my friend Brad and I. While my posts are shallow and more frequent, Brad provides deep analysis — we compliment each other nicely.
