Modern Dilemma
11th of April, 2007
My family subscribes to the Weekend Australian newspaper. In this paper comes a magazine called… The Weekend Australian Magazine. Compared to the rest of the WA it’s a light-hearted and modern read and I quite enjoy it. In it is a section called Modern Dilemma where they take a reader’s scenario, then three ‘experts’ help them come to a conclusion.
This week’s modern dilemma:
I bought a puppy last year and have now discovered it has a congenital disorder that means it will be in constant pain. My wife wants to stick by it; I say put it down. Am I right?
The three experts have code names, The Humanist, The Jurist and The Ethicist but basically they all blab on with the same politically correct “do what your heart tells you” bullshit.
For me there is no question what should be done. Put the dog down.
What do you think?
